Healthy Kidz, Healthy Communities is pleased to announce our commitment to the fight against childhood obesity. During the past 20 years, the typical calorie content of menu items like hamburgers, hot dogs, french fries and sodas has increased approximately 50%. At the same time, American youth have become less physically. Childhood obesity is a serious public health epidemic. Childhood obesity has increased disproportionately with lower-income children. During the past four decades, obesity rates have soared among all age groups, increasing more than four times among children ages 6 to 11. More than 90 percent of elementary schools do not provide daily physical education classes in school.

When you exercise, you’re helping build a strong body and healthy mind. Try to be active every day and your body will thank you! When you give your heart a workout on a regular basis, your heart will get stronger and deliver more oxygen to your body. You will be able to do more of the stuff you need and want to do.
